Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 13 June 2003 14:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Done before but:

Chicago, Boston, Toronto and Chiliwack.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 13 June 2003 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm gonna call my next band Schenectady.

(Yeah, I know, after The Begats)

kate (kate), Friday, 13 June 2003 14:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd suggest Schenectady Arkestra!

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 13 June 2003 14:25 (twenty-two years ago)

The Schenectady (General) Electric Bubblegum Arkestra!

kate (kate), Friday, 13 June 2003 14:29 (twenty-two years ago)

The Schenectady (General) Electric Bubblegum (Chamber) Arkestra!

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 13 June 2003 14:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Because we've already done (multiple) threads of place name bands, how about we change it?

What place name do you think needs a band named after it?

-Schenechtady tops my list
-Moosejaw, Sasketchawan which I can't even spell, but needs a band!

kate (kate), Friday, 13 June 2003 14:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Shubenacadie, Musquodoboit, Stewiake, Rawdon, Antigonish and Pubnico which are all in Nova Scotia could use some band names.

Specially Stewiake whose claim claim to fame is a giant Mastedon Ass facing the highway.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 13 June 2003 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Is there band called Mastadon? And if not, why isn't there? That would be a great name for a dinosaur prog rock band!

kate (kate), Friday, 13 June 2003 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

And isn't Antigonish already a neo-shoegazer band???

kate (kate), Friday, 13 June 2003 15:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Mastodon. Looks Scary. Cockwood needs a band named after it!

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 13 June 2003 15:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Croaker, Norge and Falmouth, all in Virginia. I'm thinking they could either be three separate bands or an ELP-style supagroup!

Sean Thomas (sgthomas), Friday, 13 June 2003 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Hell, Norfolk isn't a bad one either...

Sean Thomas (sgthomas), Friday, 13 June 2003 15:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Falmouth's also in Cornwall. US in nicking UK town names shocka!

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 13 June 2003 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

That name gave us giggle-fits as kids, particularly after already seeing signs for Croaker and Norge.

Sean Thomas (sgthomas), Friday, 13 June 2003 15:23 (twenty-two years ago)

But now I see that they RAWK.

Sean Thomas (sgthomas), Friday, 13 June 2003 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Olneyville Sound System, one of the best bands no one outside of Providence has heard of.

I'd like to name a band The Winnisquam-Narragansett Overdrive.

Ian Johnson, Friday, 13 June 2003 17:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Magotty, Trelawney, Magog, Deseronto, Vankleek Hill, Abitibi-Temiscamangue, Rouen-Noranda, Washkagonish

cybele (cybele), Friday, 13 June 2003 18:06 (twenty-two years ago)

But you have to pronounce Abitibi-Temiscamangue in the Quebecois way...Ah-bee-tih-bee Teh-mish-cah-mank

cybele (cybele), Friday, 13 June 2003 18:07 (twenty-two years ago)

St Louie Du Ha Ha wouldn't be that bad of a band name.
Cabano just reaks of 70s Freedom Rock much like the town itself.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 13 June 2003 18:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't understand this thread.

Flin Flon is a rock band.

Holy crap! Not only that, but they debuted with a single called "Swift Current" (see my post above). That's spooky.

(and derrick, I'm in the other direction -- Mission City).

David A. (Davant), Sunday, 15 June 2003 08:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, and I like Earlimart.
