body and soul/joe claussell

He played a dj set at the Ten Days Off Techno festival recently. I had never heard of Claussell but was vaguely aware of Body&Soul.I don't know much about techno/dj-ing but he did make my hips shake left and right. I was pleasantly surprised to see some guys hanging out near the dj-booth. One of'em even approached Joe. Even though security wanted to drag the poor lad away, Joe let him stay. Someone explain to me why peopel keep handing the deejays drugs? Is this out of respect?
All in all I am not a big fan of the lifestyle (too many drugs). Just next to me a girl fell flat on her face. She had to be dragged away. Guess she was even more impressed with Joe.
Oh yeah some of my friends left cause Joe played Marley stuff. "That's soooo uncooooool." Yeah, whatever.

Five years later...

This man is making awesome 14-minute tracks with fine instrumental solos that are more based on minimal techno production techniques than the house format. The result feels better and sounds more futuristic than all this German minimal tech-house, sampled kitchenware-throwing down the proverbial stairs type of thing.

One day I'm gonna start a thread about this that will be the end of me here..
