Why has history seemingly erased this album? Nary a track from it appears on the Eurythmics' best-of, and -- to my knowledge -- it has never seen a proper Stateside release on compact disc (relegated to a scarcity in import bins). If I'm not mistaken, there was some big falling out between the band and the film's director, Michael Radford, resulting in the band's music either being stricken from the film or reduced to a less prominent placement therein.
Regardless, I still think it's some of the most interesting music the Eurythmics ever came up with, from ambient instrumentals to pounding dance tracks, each imbued with an icy sense of futuristic paranoia and despair.
What say you?

I think it's 'In The Garden' that's overlooked, their best album by nine miles. They were still a weird rock band then, but open to odd arrangements. Co-produced by Conny Plank with great guests (Clem Burke, Jaki Leibezeit, Holger Czukay on french horn). Nothing from that album ever turns up compiled...

"In The Garden" is a really great record. The production is almost gorgeously stoned sounding at times (see "Belinda", "Never Gonna Cry Again", title track). Hazy yet detailed, and Lennox sounds lovely. I need to listen to this again tonight.

Listening to this album today, and the opening song (above) sounds a little like the Atari 2600 version of The Downward Spiral.

I've never heard this one... maybe I should check it out. I've heard 'Touch' and 'Revenge', and was especially impressed by 'Touch'. Oh, and the singles collection of course!
