From Minneapolis. Used to be part of Hammerhead (who I'm still alookin' to hear). Released a record on Load (which is a fine record), & have a new one coming soon / already out from GSL. I believe those are all tracks from the GSL release?

I take Vaz isn't Vas, the techno-world music duo?

They played at the first Chinese Stars show in Providence and ripped shit up. I haven't heard the album, but they're totally amazing live.

I'm from Mpls, I have the load lp...red cover, minimal art. Blocked by Satellites is on the Load one...My band was actually recording at the same time at the same time that Vaz was doing that record. They booked every wednesday nite for like over a year....Apparently they are really anal. Exceptional record, and a great live band. They moved from Mpls to LA, so I don't really know what they are up to now. Two man band- the guitarist (ex-Hammerhead guy) runs a guitar through a guitar and bass amp at the same time. Drummer is amazing....

Isn't vaz that gooey lubricant in Jeff Noon's Vurt?

Andy K (Andy K), Monday, 16 June 2003 19:54 (twenty-two years ago)

they live in Brooklyn now and I believe are out on tour.

two solemn dudes, totally intense live, they remind me of Chrome but really fast.

hammerhead's "into the vortex" = one of the heaviest records ever. vaz plays in that spirit.

or is it Andy Vaz who runs Background records?

vaz are great, what they lack in personality, they make-up in lack of personality.

great songs (instrumentation), terrible vocals...and jeff(?), the drummer destroys!

I've seen them more times than anybody should.

I was too drunk to care much, but they were better than the usual crap I end up hearing.

The vocals remind me of Pere Ubu. I saw them open for the Ruins. I think their Load record is out of print, though it can be found for a reasonable price.
