DIRTY DEEDS
-----------
ODB has his own reality show

Dirt McGirt, better known as Old Dirty Bastard is set to star in his
own reality TV show. The programme, which is tentitively titled 'ODB
On Parole' will be an Osbournes style show for VH1, the difference
being that Ozzy is on MTV, and ODB is nothing like Ozzy.

Cameras have been following the star everywhere since his release
from chokey.

A VH1 producer says of the show, "It will be interesting to see if
he chooses good or evil. He's excited to taste life in all its many
forms. And we are going to find out if he can do that while
remaining on the good side of his parole."

best TV show ever?

Something about this idea makes me want to find the producer behind it and beat them with a Steadicam.

I would actually watch this. The man is endlessly entertaining!

He is, although I do fear that these types of shows keep edging toward exploitative. The Osbournes are mostly fine; Anna Nicole Smith verges on making me uncomfortable -- ODB might be mostly fine, but judging from some of his jail interviews he really didn't sound steady enough to walk into this sort of thing. I dunno, maybe he's doing better now.

Gosh, if only they had steadicams back in the sixties, Syd Barrett might still be a superstar today! Or long dead, whatever.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 17:05 (twenty-two years ago)

i agree with nabisco. "Cameras have been following the star everywhere since his release from chokey." !??!?!!??!!?!?

Could it be that much more degrading than Gary Coleman on Stardates?

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 17:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I think Gary Coleman lost any dignity he had left when he beat up that woman. ODB's crimes however were all victimless (this may not be true).

odb only had one charge of aggravated assault, i believe.

still, i kinda wish this was on HBO--how many times can they bleep "nigga" & "muthafucka" before the censor just gives up?

see, as most of you UK folk know--> American broadcast policies == Teh Suck.

Yeah I was just thinking that ODB on VH1 = "bleep bloop bleep bloop ladeez bleep bloop get my bloop bleep..."

Regardless...I actually totally WILL get cable just for this show.

(One day Dirt will be on Sesame St. MARK MY WORDS!)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

here's a sample of how it'll probably sound, thanks to VH1.

"Y'all lookin' like some straight-up black and white Indians," he would say later in the set. "Y'all the craziest mutha----as ever coming to see the ODB. Y'all know how we get down. For real I miss y'all mutha----as."
