That's ok. I like them, but know everyone's not going to be into Pink Floyd. Just threw that out as a song that fit the thematic requirements, 'tis all.

Innocent Dreamer (Dee the Lurker), Thursday, 19 June 2003 21:35 (twenty-two years ago)

The Hidden Cameras - High Upon The Church Grounds

may not be what you're looking for. They're used to intro the song and don't sound very clear in any case. Still a stomping choon tho.

meeker, Thursday, 19 June 2003 22:05 (twenty-two years ago)

The "disco medley" of Sex Pistols tunes by the Black Arabs on the soundtrack to "The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle" features church bells.

robin (robin), Friday, 20 June 2003 00:36 (twenty-two years ago)

The last track on Sonic Youth's "Sister" and I think the third track from "Neu!2." I'm feeling lazy and can't get up to check my records personally.

Nevertheless, "Psyche Rock" is the best use of bells. That should also go on the "funnest" track ever thread.

direct_program, Friday, 20 June 2003 03:14 (twenty-two years ago)

i think it's track three off of Neu! 2.
lots of Depeche mode songs.
im pretty sure Hrvatski's got one somewhere on Swarm and Dither, but don't count on recognizing amongst the mess. my sixth sense tells me so.

I cannot believe this thread has got so far without mention of the greatest record ever, which has very prominent church bells: 'The Bells' by Billy Ward & the Dominoes, with Clyde McPhatter giving the most insanely over-emotional vocal performance ever by anyone.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 26 July 2003 12:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Tori Amos - Blood Roses (recorded in the same church as the bells for good measure)
the DNA remix of Suzanne Vega's 'Tom's Diner' added some bells
