b)Do statements like this actually do serious damage to these genres (ie ppl stop listening or producing same, or at least are less vocal about it)?(B Wilson took it pretty hard, judging by his mentioning it in his autobiog 25 years later)

c)'Surf music' = 'techno' in 'whiteness' quotient?

it's like, BW, came out of the sea, up the beach and into his own water-free sandpit, where hendrix floated out to sea, fell off his surf board and swam down to find a sand pit on the sea bed
