Are your favorite musician's favorite musicians also some of your favorite musicians?

I've been noticing lately that my tastes seem a little bit consistant by seeing that some of the people that make the music I like also like other music I like. Often if a band covers a song I like I will also like that band, or if they are on a tribute album I may too like them. what about you? (and as a side question, what are some examples of famous people's favorite music that you like or don't like, even if you like the person?)

Generally, my favourite musicians have all turned out to have appalling taste. Even worse, they rarely even know what's good in their own music.
