"Death is no longer an excuse to not go out on the road or slow down your career. Just ask Elvis. Frank Sinatra obviously did and five years after his death he is about to perform again.

From October 10-19, Sinatra is booked to perform at the Radio City Music. Due to the wonders of technology, a 3 dimensional holographic image of Sinatra will perform and move around the stage, backed by a live 40 piece orchestra.

The performance comes with the full support of his family. "My dad loved everything about Radio City--the history, the stage, the audiences, the backstage crew," says his daughter Tina Sinatra.

"Radio City Entertainment is the perfect partner to bring the precious legacy--my Dad's life and his music-- to the stage in a manner that honors his style and respects his artistry."

The show will feature events of Sinatra's life from rare footage supplied by the family. Much of the visuals come from Sinatra's personal archive of home movies and films.

Ticket prices vary from $US40-$85 and are available online at radiocity.com

...is this possible? I'm not sure that hologram technology has progressed that far. Tho acutally I do remember seeing on BBC News a demonstration of three dimensional holographic TV a few years back.

Holographics as we've come to think of them from sci-fi movies will never exist.
Light just can't be manipulated like that.
