I've been listening to Faith Over Reason a lot lately and (apart from the fact that the Malkmus produced "Easy" isn't very good at all) the one thing that struck me was that Lambert seemed to be emulating Wheeler and I wondered whether this got FoR labelled Sundays copyists. I don't remember anyone saying so at the time, however. Lambert sounds less like Wheeler on Only Love Can Break Your Heart; this may be the stamp of producer Ian Catt, however.
