Did any UK ilx0rs record BBC1's Imagine: Alan Yentob on hip-hop. I missed it and am led to believe it was pretty damned funny. Will supply beer for an evening to anyone who could lend it to me/run me off a copy.

I was going to start a thread on this... that program made me never want to listen to rap again.

I mean... you don't make a show about hip-hop and how it resonates in black culture, and then go up to Russel Simmons and say "Do you know Eminem?". It's like asking Pele what Garranchia was like as a player.

However, that weird faced middle class girls kicking those really bad freestyle rhymes whilst her parents were sitting next to her with concerned expressions on their faces is my new favourite musician ever.

hip hop 101 for school headmasters, i was glad to see the watts prophets still bustin loose tho (they dont like whitey)

It was a bad programme and anyone who loves hip hop lineage should avoid it at all costs because it mocks the fan who doesnt listen to hip hop because its "dangerous".

worth watching for the hip hop girl in the kitchen (she was real cool and not like any other mc you wil

ever

see, and i mean ever unless gladys from hi de hi gets a recording deal. Oh and yntob gushing over M&M at the end.

It was pretty funny, but the headmaster's comment is on the money.

Best bit was where all these black guys (wasn't paying attention to names sorry) are sitting round discussing Eminem and one of the younger ones says that M&M is the best rapper round now. This older guy disagrees and the younger one and when the younger one calls him on it and asks "would you say that if he was black?" the older guy just changes the subject. I have total erspect for the youner guy.

Ive T was interesting too.
