Killing Joke question (for Mr. Killing Joke)

At the NY Public Library today, I was looking at some occult book and it had a chapter about music. On the same page as Black Sabbath, there was a picture of the Killing Joke guy and the caption under it said something like, "Mr. Killing Joke man believed so strongly in [some occult apocalyptic thing] that he retired his band to go live in Iceland to escape what he felt was an impending disaster."

Is that true?

Pretty much.

True, that is.

*laugh*

The name's Coleman. Jaz Coleman. That's who "the Killing Joke guy" and "Mr. Killing Joke man" is.

We'll have to wait for "Mr. Killing Joke" (we all know who that person is) to determine whether you've dishonored any sort of natural chemical reaction for that.

He has!

Yeah, Jaz went to Iceland sometime after the recording of Revelations, later accompanied by Geordie. After a while, they sort've outstayed their welcome and were, for all intents and purposes, booted out, at which point they promptly returned to England, recruited Paul Raven to take over bass detail from Youth and....ah, you people don't care anyway, do you?

Speaking of, Jaz and Georide recently discussed this episode with Bruce Dickinson on an episode of "Freak Zone" on the BBC, which may still be available here....

I thought Paul Ferguson took Paul Raven over to Iceland to join Jaz and Geordie after he (PF) had a bust up with Youth and left Brilliant?

I don't think Big Paul Ferguson and Raven joined in that particular excursion. Check out that interview.
