"The Essential Shawn Mullins" is likewise a howler.

As I've previously stated (to mild but uniform ILM derision), I like "Lullaby". But this is too much.

Naive Teen Idol (Naive Teen Idol), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 20:00 (twenty-two years ago)

amateurist (amateurist), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 20:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmmm -- nothing about VI ever really struck me as "self-aware"--least of all his rap-rock comeback--but you never know.

dbini, Thursday, 10 July 2003 11:08 (twenty-two years ago)

as far as people who purposely give their albums funny titles, david holmes has a few gems – lets get killed and this film's crap lets slash the seats.

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 10 July 2003 12:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Phil Collins called his greatest hits album "HITS". There used to be a big billboard on the approach to Blackfriars train station advertising it, with a picture of Phil and the word HITS written in very big letters.

Can you guess how that was subtly altered by some people with spraycans?

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Thursday, 10 July 2003 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Blink-182 - Take Off Your Pants and Jacket

(Say it out loud, but make sure you're braced for the hearty laughter to follow.)

Bobby Buttrock (Old Lunch), Monday, 8 January 2018 13:20 (seven years ago)

I seem to remember that the Super Furry Animals considered using the name of their song 'The Very Best Of Neil Diamond' as the album title (for what became Dark Days/Light Years). Probably good that they didn't, but it would have been hilarious.

A deliberate joke that I always thought was funny: Paul McCartney has this live album called Paul Is Live.

Valentijn, Monday, 8 January 2018 14:06 (seven years ago)

As a title, "Yerself Is Steam"

Mark G, Monday, 8 January 2018 14:36 (seven years ago)

(xp) bit too much like Throbbing Gristle, "20 Jazz Funk Greats" or Ween's "12 Golden Country Greats" perhaps?

Whiney Houston (Tom D.), Monday, 8 January 2018 14:43 (seven years ago)

"There's a Whole Lalo Schifrin Goin On"

frogbs, Monday, 8 January 2018 14:49 (seven years ago)

The Mekons' "The quality of mercy is not strnen."

Glad to see that someone mentioned this one early on in the thread (of course it doesn't make sense without the album cover)

Nick Lowe's greatest hits album, 16 All-Time Lowes

frogbs, Monday, 8 January 2018 16:26 (seven years ago)

Re: Christine Indigos earlier (14 years earlier) post. It couldn't be Squirrel Bait as they only made two lps in their lifetime. The eponymous debut and the wonderfully titled Skag Heaven. I'm pretty sure (if my memories of ads in old issues of Forced Exposure don't deceive me) that title you mentioned belongs to Bastro. Whom I believe are S.B. related so it's close. For some reason my subconscious keeps saying Gastr del Sol, but I'm gonna go with Bastro.

VyrnaKnowlIsAHeadbanger, Monday, 8 January 2018 16:53 (seven years ago)

A book but I've always loved this title
