Oh by the way, make sure you're downloading the right version! There's a fake version floating around, but it's really easy to spot, seeing as how none of the song titles appear in any of the songs and shit. Strangely enough, I actually like the fake one almost as much as the real one (especially the "What the motherfuck's up, bitch!? Deck the ho!! Deck the ho!!" song.)

On my copy, the first thing you see when you remove the CD is a huge boognish staring at you. This is a lovely record. Must have listened to it 6 times this week. It's not as good as The Mollusk, but not much is.

Just bought the album at Turtle's here in Memphis... I've listened to it thrice already... There isn't a bad song to be found. Rolling Stone had the nerve to give it **.Anyone who is familiar with Ween know that they aren't really interested in pleasing the critics or any kind of majority in the world (esp. a mag that puts an American Idol winner on it's cover), but as they say "narrow is the gat that leads to salvation". And in this particular case, 'Quebec' is an album which could lead many a lost and forlorn to a musical land o' plenty, no snobs allowed. 'Quebec' is very good, transendant even. Any doubters out there would be wise to get 'Quebec' now so ten years from now they can say "oh yeah, I liked 'Ween' back in day, way way before they turned down being on the cover of 'Rolling Stone'

The thing with that Rolling Stone review was that it was like the reviewer was listening for that specific retarded jokey Ween from like 10 years ago rather than reviewing quebec on it's own merits, as an album from a band that has grown and is still growing.

Looks like Mickey just released for download a 2-disc set of the demos for this album, originally called "Caesar" - some pretty neat stuff there with a bunch of unreleased material, if you dig the album search it out, it's all over the internet.

Still think this is the band's best or maybe second-best album, I really do dig the trippy slow atmosphere of many of the songs and the more melodic, dramatic stuff is ace.

Can't believe it's 8 years old and they've only released one album since!!

both Mollusk and Quebec are excellent but yea over time I've come to realize Quebec is def the better of the two. imago is right, everything on it works. kinda wish they had the balls to make it even longer and include some of the better tracks that got cut.

Mountains & Buffalo is stunning as well. Ween is the only band that sent me deep into downloading bootleg live recordings and shit. Spent a lot of time on the Ween Forum.

Quebec is the best. It gets real and it gets dark but manages to not be a downer. Probably too abstract and Ween to make the list of best divorce albums, but it deserves a spot.
