This is the greatest live album ever, right?

SCREAM FOR ME LONG BEACH~!

ben welsh (benwelsh), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 02:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Did you know they're playing Long Beach next month as part of their tour? Alas I'm going to the Irvine show, which while closer won't have that sense of history. ;-)

run to the hills is completely classic. the scorpions live album came out around the same time but it was a major dud.

They're playing Chicago but I don't know if I'm gonna go. It's way outside of town at that god forsaken Tweeter Center. It's ain't cheap either....but I've never seen them and I do love me some metal. What is a 20 year old boy to do? Is this my only chance?

P.S. "Children of the Damned" is the best Sabbath song they never wrote.

Oh yeah, the Scorpians are a joke compared to Irons. How many classic albums? 6? 7?

ben welsh (benwelsh), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 02:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Is this my only chance?

I half figure it's now or never. Dickinson's wail can't last forever (though I'm convinced Harris and Nicko will die with respective instruments/drumsticks in hand).

The only Maiden record I ever owned, I was given a track by track rundown of its greatness by an avowed Maiden freak. I listened to it like 3 more times and sold it. It wuz great to that extent tho!

"This is a song about what not to do when a bird shits on you!" - amongst the greatest stage patter ever.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 05:15 (twenty-two years ago)

This is supposed to be their last really epic tour (I interviewed Steve Harris Monday night), so definitely go check 'em out if there are still tickets available where you are. Plus, they've got Motorhead opening, so honestly, how can you lose?

Phil Freeman (Phil Freeman), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 10:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, they could both cancel and you'd be stuck with Dio, but I'll chance that. ;-)

...and a small toot of respect here for the MAIDEN JAPAN EP.

Ian Christe (Ian Christe), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 16:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Iron Maiden is one of the rare bands that can actually pull off a show in a baskeball arena. I had a great time the time I saw them in high school back in the 80s.

One of the cool things about getting "Live After Death" on LP is that it had a tour book included. They freakin' played everywhere. I also liked the list that had the amount of beer, sodas, etc consumed by the band/crew over their world tour.

Best metal live album ever? I can't think of any better ones.

I saw them on the reunion tour with Bruce and it was good fun, though the sound sucked, so I probably won't go this time. Suppose I'll get the new album though.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 17:36 (twenty-two years ago)

are the new tee shirts as cool as the old ones?
