from Dom Martin, formerly of Earworm Records:

...just to let you know that i'm creating a new little earworm spinoff label called "the earworm gold series" which might run to just one release! it's really just to get the long promised SPACEMEN 3 7" out.

Yes, it really IS happening and it won't be long now. i have a master and artwork ready to roll. ending earworm put me in a corner for this one so the idea of a specials/gold series type label seemed approriate! anyway, it'll be a 3 trk 7" ep on multicoloured vinyl all being well.

a side: walkin' with jesus (acosustic demo)

aa: take me to the other side (perfect prescription demo)
walkin' with jesus (alternate noisier PP demo)

it's not out yet but i'm on his mailing list and will keep you all updated...

A bunch of slightly different stuff we all already have on differing formats, stuck together on pretty coloured vinyl and re-released as a "special collectors edition!"?

I believe it all too well.

again i wonder why i bother sharing any information or enthusiasm with you lot. remind me next time to pre-emptively tell you all to go get stuffed.

well, how much are they gunna charge for the new doohickey? $8?

Kingfish (Kingfish), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 11:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm not so down on it as Kate, Jim, but I have to agree, unless these demos and alternates REALLY KICK ASS, this is a bit 'eh, nice' more than anything else. If there hadn't been so many alternate tracks surfacing already, well then -- as it is, is this just stuff that they thought wouldn't be good even for Forged Prescriptions?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 12:25 (twenty-two years ago)

come on guys! an ACOUSTIC DEMO of walkin' with jesus? how can this not be exciting? and a NOISIER version!!

aw c'mon, i know Dom's excited to be releasing it, and he's a man of taste and class. it'll kick ass.

How many versions of WWJ do I have in my collection? More probably than I do of "Gloria," "Louie Louie" and "Pale Blue Eyes" combined (speaking as a man of multiple Patti Smith bootlegs, even,) but I'm ready for another...or two more...or...
