I keep hearing this rumour that someone has recently done an electro cover of Nirvana - Smell Like Teen Spirit? (like Luke Slater????)

anyone know anything about this? (cause i did one that has been floating around the net for some 6 months now, ...and well..)

that Muzak version you hear in the mall in the documentary "Hype!" sounds pretty damn electro.

Not exactly relevent, but I heard SLTS on the radio a few weeks ago and reflected to myself that it would've been so much better as a novelty electro track.

weird, i was just talking to someone yesterday and i said nirvana would have been much better with some arpeggiated synth-bass.

hey yeah - haven't heard the moog cookbook one yet but know of it.,
there is a verison by 486DX that is ok.

and the Freeland one is a Nu-Breaks track i think? and not what i'm referring to - well i don't think it is.

also just found this one by Dr Shingo (who is that?????)

There was also the rap version by Credit to the Nation. It had a much better bassline.

The combo "Teen Spirit"/"Bootylicious" mix makes me smile from time to time.

Don't know about electro, but there's the great jazz cover by The Bad Plus.

Love Daddy, Thursday, 24 July 2003 16:58 (twenty-two years ago)

it is by adam freelands band. he played it in his essential mix of June this year. if your tricky i'm sure you can download that set somewhere and have a listen. its allright. not as nifty as his throwing Rage Against the Machine's Killing in the Name of slap bang in the middle of his deep breaks set. Unremixed version to i might ad.

The Free*land record is going to be very very good. Better than dizzy rascal i say. maybe.

Tch...this is just as interesting as depeche mode doing a guitar song...oh wait, they did didn't they...haha! fuckers!

eight months pass...
True there is an Adam Freeland version of this. However, i think Dsic is looking for is the one i heard last Saturday night. While i usually cringe at the mere mention of, this version is pure electroclash. The vocals are not the original vocals but are vocoded. I tend to hate about 99.9% of all that electroclash drivel, but i dare say i would actually buy this record if i could find out who it is and what its called. Anyone?

mmm, drivel.

Chewshabadoo (Chewshabadoo), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 20:36 (twenty-two years ago)

i heard this on the radio a long time ago
i think it was on the "Solid State With Liquid Todd" show on K-Rock
it's horrible all those vocoder voices....
