I will advance this first proposition: Hard speed/thrash metal music with peace and love type Beach Boys lyrics. If it has been done, it's always done as a sarcastic cover tune. It needs to be done for real.

Scaredy Cat, Thursday, 24 July 2003 17:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I have no idea why I "advanced this proposition." I don't even remember writing that.

I can't find a Beach Boys version of Death Metal but I did find this:
Those who read the "Best Karaoke Song" might've asked yourself: what the hell is the "Free Software Song"?

Well, here's a Death Metal/Grindcore version of it!

Note: you have to have a media player than can do OGG files (Or a program that turns OGG files into WAVs or MP3s) to listen to this.

Country music with scratching

King Kobra (King Kobra), Thursday, 24 July 2003 18:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Iiiiii dunno about that. {L Nick] is like 98% goth, 1% rap and 1% random line noise. I'm looking for some befanged homey dropping science over minor key harpsichord riffs.

Kingfish (Kingfish), Friday, 25 July 2003 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Using this topics train of thought, i made a "Cantonese Glitch Opera" track a while back:
http://noneinc.com/sound/%2520&%a7p%a9%99%a8P&%b1%c1%80%8a%bf%d8-%80%9b%20in%20%bdf%ba@%a7%df%87g%86%d9%a7W%bdf%b6%b1%81%87%ba%87%20glitch%ba%f7%e6%bcs.mp3

as for the "Country With Scratching", i've got a country version of Public Enemy's "Bring the Noise" which i believe has some scratching in it.

Mike Ouderkirk (Mike Ouderkirk), Monday, 28 July 2003 05:44 (twenty-two years ago)

bluegrass grindcore/speedmetal.... seriously I think it would sound great.

chad (chad), Monday, 28 July 2003 21:45 (twenty-two years ago)

That's not too far off to begin with, given the emphasis on instrumental virtuousity for both genres (in the 'Kirk Hammett thinks he's Segovia' sense at least).
