I think Yo la are a band that build their music around I & G's relationship in an interesting way. There's something so suburban and domestic about them. "Center of Gravity" is a beautiful song that is only added to by knowing the singers are actually in love.

The men from Matmos are partners both in and out of the recording studio, I believe. Making music like they do with someone you love seems like a good life to me. I doubt its any different for them; maybe more so if the couple is making love songs.

The best partnership is Waits & Brennan, at least the way Waits always describes it in interviews: "It's like a mom and pop store -- I bring home the flamingo, she plucks the feathers and pops it in the oven" or "She holds the nail, I swing the hammer."

i was just saying that ira and georgia should have a reality show in which every episode consists of them sitting around their apartment listening to a different obscure record -- and they wouldn't comment on it for the camera or anything, they'd just go about their lives, air-guitaring, grabbing a beer from the fridge, reading zines out loud to each other.
