jess (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 29 July 2003 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

do you see: D Plan totally overrated; nobody will admit to listening to Modest Mouse (totally way far superior band)

Aaron A., Tuesday, 29 July 2003 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

today:

Wild Pack of Family Dogs
Trucker's Atlas
Breakthrough
Long Distance Drunk
Gravity Rides
Dramamine
Never Ending Math Equation
Out of Gas
Here It Comes
Styrofoam Boots/ It's All Nice On Ice, Alright

I'd probably pick some others, but I can't remember MM song titles fo' shit.

Will (will), Tuesday, 29 July 2003 20:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I haven't heard enough of the pre-major stuff to really do a POX, but I can't imagine Modest Mouse has done ten songs better than "So Much Beauty In Dirt." No band has.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 29 July 2003 20:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh God, only 10? I could narrow it down to thirty, maybe...

01 3 Inch Horses, Two Faced Monsters
02 Breakthrough
03 Tiny Cities Made of Ashes
04 Styrofoam Boots/It's All Nice On Ice, Alright
05 Cowboy Dan
06 Dukes Up & Crazy Gnome (can't justify two spots for these)
07 Sleepwalking
08 Talking Shit About A Pretty Sunset
09 She Ionizes and Atomizes
10 Positive/Negative

.. I'm missing about 1/2 my favourite songs.. damnit! And does anyone really think the Dismemberment Plan are similar to MM? I've certainly never noticed a similarity..

Alexis (Alexis), Tuesday, 29 July 2003 21:54 (twenty-two years ago)

"Teeth Like God's Shoeshine" is one of the worst song titles I've ever heard.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 29 July 2003 22:10 (twenty-two years ago)

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 29 July 2003 23:05 (twenty-two years ago)

hmmm -- i guess emo has become a meaningless term now -- never thought of Modest Mouse as emo, but then i tend to think of emo as "sensitive" ex-hardcorers.

Bosse-De-Nage (Bosse-De-Nage), Tuesday, 29 July 2003 23:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm thinking of seeing them tomorrow night, but I've heard their live performances are hit and miss. Has anyone seen them with the new drummer?

may have been posted already, but
new Mouse here

I think I read that the album was pushed back again.

Will(iam) (will), Friday, 6 February 2004 03:37 (twenty-two years ago)

"Good news for people who love bad news" comes out April 6th.

Float On is a good song but I prefer the live version from last year.

twelve years pass...

life like weeds
you're the good things
gravity rides everything
a different city
never ending math question
ocean breathes salty
teeth like god's shoeshine
a life of arctic sounds
steam engenius
strangers to ourselves
