I just heard it.

Freeway gets totally cut up. Awkward pauses while he thinks about his first line. He sounds out of breath almost. But his verses are pretty good. They don't work for what they're supposed to but they're good. And he begs for a beat and sounds worried.

Cass knows how to battle, obviously. He pretty easily rips him, but.

Freeway is the Lord Finesse of the 'oughts - talented beyond comprehension but somehow unable to make an album that isn't boring as fuck. What was UP with Philadelphia Freeway??

It's all on KaZaA. No beat. All of the Roc-a-Fella people were on the radio saying they'd battle anyone. Cass happened to be at Swizz's studio, where Free and Jay-Z and Beanie were coming to record after they were on the radio.

That's what's awesome about Free. To me, he always sounds like he's this close to breaking down into uncontrollable weeping. He's absolutely killer on "Two Words," this track with Mos Def on I'm Good, a recent Kanye West mixtape.
