Going to see Ash, but feel a bit crap about doing so...

So we're going to see Ash at their Edinburgh show in a couple of weeks. I like Ash (Nu-Clear Sounds aside), "Girl from Mars", "Oh Yeah", "Burn Baby Burn", "Envy" etc - all fucking good pop tunes. I can handle the fact that Tim Wheeler, for all intents and purposes, is a drab twat (the S and M video to Numbskull was desperate, associating with Chris Martin is almost unforgiveable, covering a Weezer song is perhaps worthy of death). I really can, and my mate is funny cos he likes stadium rock and grunge and gets really irked when I remind him that Ash were a Britpop band... "No they weren't" he says, "cos they were good". Hmm... and this is coming from a fan of Bon Jive and Guns n Roses, but I digress, hes a cool guy.

My problem is that they are now supporting Robbie Williams which is unforgiveable for even me. And now I really don't want to go.

It sucks doesn't it?

Well don't! They're pretty weak, but I kinda like 'em. They have some beautiful songs (very few), but they exude this wide-eyed charm. You can tell they work hard for their muzak. Them good lads.

Yeah but I've paid for the ticket. wish I was gonna see the Super Furry Animals instead. Bet they wouldn't count Robbie and Chris Martin in their social circle. I'd still probably do Charlotte tho.
