List the reasons why "Flavor Flav cold lampin'" owns my soul.

I think many on this board agree that this song belongs in the canon, but if the future hip-hop hall of fame were to recognize individual tracks for outstanding achievement, what would we want said about it in the induction speech?

1.first of all, that beat makes me forget just how white-bred i am, at least until i try to dance to it.
2."flavor flav is in everything you eat because everything you eat's got flavor"- i can only assume this line means nothing at all, because i've spent too many hours of my life trying to dissect it and my labor has been fruitless. the fact that it rolls quite so well from the tip of the tongue as to prompt me to spend this much time thinking about it makes it a truly legendary line, at least in my life.
3.he rhymes "vanilla" with "SARSAPARILLA", not that it's hard to make the words sound alike, but i'm sorry, i didn't know what the fuck sarsaparilla was until this song prompted me to look it up.
4.the word "knock-a" has never carried so much authority as an insult (and discouraged me of messin' with Sr. Drayton to such an extent)
5. it's the breakroom in the terrordome, and trust me, it's appreciated.
6. it's a well-deserved solo outing for the joker. i understand that he had a role as chuck's sidekick, but it kind of makes me sad to hear how often on that album the cold lamper refers to chuck (either directly or indirectly) by name and how rare it is that chuck addresses flavor. if it weren't for this song, i would certainly feel that flavor wasn't getting proper respect, but here he is allowed to blossom into the unique individual flower that we know and love as sparkplug.

7. i still don't know what the hell "cold lampin'" means, but i still wish i could do it.
8."Ya eatin death cause ya like gittin dirt from da graveyard - ya put gravy on it
Den ya pick ya teeth with tomb stone chips
And casket cover clips - dead women hips ya do da bump with - bones
Nutin but love bones
Lifestyles of the Live-en-dead
First ya live den ya dead - died trying"
despite his role as the comic foil, he still adresses the topid of death

lampin means to hang out and just chill, as in by a street lamp.

d k (d k), Monday, 4 August 2003 04:52 (twenty-two years ago)

you tell me

oops (Oops), Monday, 4 August 2003 04:55 (twenty-two years ago)

cold
1) (adj) Intensely. "Stone cold rhymin'" -- Young MC (Stone cold rhymin').
2) (adj) Mean, not nice.

So it means, 'Hanging out intensely.' Or it means, 'Hanging out mean, not nice.'

Did anyone else see the commerical for Cold Lampin cereal? It was on a PE video comp. The cereal was shaped like little clocks. Flavor Flav was the perfect pitch man for a sugary kids cereal.

I prefer "Can't Do Nuttin' For Ya Man"
Any song that ends with the vocalist suddenly barking "Wash Yo Butt!" and then snickering like Baron Guede on nitrous balloons has got to be one of the Grebtest 'Choon Evah!
