Does anyone know what happened to 'Brothers in Sound'?

They had an album called 'Family is for Sharing' out on Regal about 3 years ago (I think it might even have been a collection of eps and singles) which was absolutely magic, and they were also v.v.good live, but they seem to disapeared, I can't find anything on the web about their wearabouts.

Oh, and they looked like Hanson if that jogs anyone's memories

Ta very much

This the thing?

There's bugger-all information on AMG, but it's still available on Amazon. I remember it coming out back in 2000 and being intrigued, but never seeing it anywhere and thus forgetting (I was smoking a lot of dope / drinking a lot of Guinness back then!).

Is it recommended?

Definately recommended.

Fantastic album, mix of early Beta band, ELO, a laid back Primal Scream and Pink Floyd - Very ecclectic, probably due to it being a compilation of earlier stuff.
I would rate it almost on a par with the BetaBand's 3EP's

They were only young lads as well, I saw them supporting (I Think) The Regular Fries at ULU and they looked like they should have been in bed hours ago

They were from Bournemouth and are friends of friends. They can't be that young, maybe 27 or 28 now?

here you go:
"I don't think they exist anymore. Last time I saw Paul, which was in the
spring I think, he was playing with a new band at the buffalo bars."

BiS .. one is now in the Clams. brit rock on boss music. and another is now part of Superglider records. he records as Sancho Panza (though that name is up for change), new stuff imminent.
and yes the lp is rather nice.

http://www.superglider.com has mp3's i suspect. a fine label.

I liked the first couple Brothers in Sound EPs but haven't listened to them in quite a while... did they release an LP? I always figured they'd do a 3 EPs styleed comp.

i believe the lp was an amalgamtion of the ep's. still does the rounds at my place.

I ordered a second-hand copy via Amazon just this morning.

Ah, there it is in picture-form upthread (as usual I don't pay attention). I should dig out the EPs and see how well they've aged.... I seem to recall liking the first two better than the third.

the majesty of a fine imprint at one time. regal. BiS, Beta, Orange Can, Exodus77, medicine8.
all fine. but who now ? nothing apart from Beta .. i have no desire to hear alfie .. am i wrong ?
and exodus77 went onto become Free Association ... is the imprint still going ?

Andy is indeed playing bass in the clams, their second single is out shortly and they are just about to start recording their debut album for Boss.

Paul released a fantastic limited edition 7" on superglider earlier this year as 'sancho panza' and has just finished the album which we will be releasing under the name 'sancho' in the next few months. Its absolutely brilliant, and features one track that was originally recorded as Brothers in sound.

There is still an MP3 up at www.superglider.com (+ many other fine bands!), and more MP3s will probably go up in the coming weeks.

i was in Brothers in Sound. yes, the first 2 EPs are great but the third is'nt particularly any good although i did like the sleeve. I should point out that Ed has recorded some stuff under the name Red Arthur which is fucking ace.
