A full page ad in The Face offers the last five copies of the JAMs '1987' LP at an asking price of 1000 pounds. They have, thus far, sold three.

Thus telleth the booklet of 'The History of the JAMs a.k.a. the Timelords'.
Hm.
Well.
What, prey, was it then? Just another K-hoax? Or were there actually copies of '1987' sold for 1000 apiece? TO WHOM??

To a certain Messrs Drummond and Caughty I expect. Before burning a million quid, they were limbering up by burning three thousand quid. Not to mention, making an ironic art terrorist statement, zenlike in its ambiguity, naturally.

Damned if I understand.

I have a buddy who actually paid 180usd on ebay for a mint vinyl copy of 1987.

The record was only out for a day or two. The vast majority of the existing copies were destroyed due to a lawsuit with abba over the Dancing Queen sample.

how do you pronounce "F***" anyway? does it have those swahili clicks in it?

As far as I'm aware, 'The Face' magazine bought one of them.

i'll sell you my copy for a thousand quid if you like. it has a scratch on side 2 that makes the needle jump half way thru "The Queen and I"

I had a copy of this back in the day, and sold it to a friend for $40. Even though I could have made huge cash on this, I still don't regret it, because he liked it far more than I did.

my perfect cassette copy of 1987 is buried deep in my archive. a glorious album. and the second lp was great fun aswell. but the fun factor was becoming far more serious.

but 1987 was on constant rotation. i duped the orig onto a backup and trashed the backup copy ..

arrhh the world of pre-cdr's ..
