Parallel conclusion to that reached by Devo et al - i.e. New Orleans swamp groove as template for new wave>electro angular stutter beats? Or crossover attempt that crosses over into Wesley Willis territory? Also, what's better - Robert Palmer's "Sneakin' Sally Thru the Alley", Devo's "Working in a Coal Mine", or Palmer's "Girl U Want"?

well, rockin' sidney was a little more local to louisiana than Devo was, i think...but I always thought his tune was pretty lame compared to any number of great Zydeco artists. I've never heard Palmer's version of Girl U Want, but it sounds like a good idea. Devo's "Working in a Coal Mine" is pretty good, though. Would like to hear someone like them cover "Everything I do Gonh be Funky", also by Lee Dorsey, though. That'd be innarestin'
