Lionel Richie is the Phil it's OK to like, I think. More so than Phil is 'OK to like'.

man i havent heard a phil collins song apart form that pone where hes talking about hius friend committing suicide? is this real? i think therefore that phil collins is too dark whereas wayne wonder is a summmation of summer that feeling of being so hot you coukd die and be happy. i mean his name is wayne wonder phil collins is just dull compared to such a wondrous nom

The Wayne Wonder album has some darker tracks - the wonderful "Just Another Day", "Enemies", "Metal & Steel" - very much in the vein of the darker eerie tracks on Invisible Touch like "Tonight Tonight Tonight" (i'm going on hazy memories of my parent's copy of that album so that might be wrong). My favourite tracks though are the ones which mix pop sweetness with an element of pathos - "Bounce Along", "Definitely", "Nobody But Me", and "Glad You Came My Way" (which is a bit like "Groovy Kinda Love" or "In Too Deep").

No Letting Go's melody sounds like "Just Another Day In Paradise"

in my opinion, this is only because - and i say it again - lionel richie looks like colonel gadaffi. "gotta be" by wayne wonder and surprise is a male duet, therefore = "easy lover" (and, by the way, "easy lover" transcends all accepted bounds of taste and decency with its sheer brilliance).
