Has anyone done a thread about MC Mabon yet?

Cos I got his latest album yesterday. And it's skill to the power SKILL. Welsh hip-hop-ish stuff, but done by an angry bloke who almost certainly wears a parka, styles squelching out of every pore, and brilliant, brilliant lyrics...

"Hotels & B&B's are shit
Cos you've gotta pay for 2 nights
If you wanna lie in

Who says that eight is the time to get up?
Who says that nine is the time to eat?
Who says that ten is the time to get out?
Who says that man knows what he's about?"

MC Mabon is fucking fantastic and everyone should follow Wlliams lead and hunt down his stuff - loopy super-frazzled acid-fried hip-hop, marvellous.

Agreed, the two earlier albums I have are most spiff so if there's a third, hurrah!

Think there's actually four or five of them - I have the first and the last one (Mr Blaidd and one with a really, really long title that I can't be fussed tping out), but I've not got Nia Non or The Search For Meaning. There is also apparently an hour long mix of dictaphone recordings that he made between 1985 & 2001. Which might be... interesting.

one year passes...
I just bought 'Buy This Now Before Badness, Hate, Greed, Stupidity, Indifference and Over-Population Ruins Us All (and Watch Out for Those Meteorites and Mutant Rats)'. It's the first brilliant thing I've heard all year. People should be talking about this man. TALK PEOPLE.

He has a more recent album, 'Cleishie' on Rasp Records from mid-Wales. It's pretty scrappy and lo-fi but kinda cool. Good luck finding it, I live in Cardiff and I'm not sure I've ever actually seen it in a shop
