Am sure Busted will be no.1 really but they are the most omnipresent thing in the history of pop music this week and for them to be number one would be TOO predictable.
BEST MUSIC VIDEO MOMENT OF THE YEAR: in the middle of Sleeping With The Lights On when Charlie (tall/eyebrows) lurches centre stage (garage) to do his vocal bit and reveals that when singing solo he has VOICE OF FOGHORN and is thereby the weakest link in the Busted chain by considerable margin (extremely similar to Mary Whitehouse Experience sketch from a decade ago when they 'did' Stay by Shakespears Sister on TOTP and portrayed Siobhan as same, but lots funnier)

Kelis & Richard X would clearly be number one in right-thinking world but if they go top 10 I'll be happy. Stacie Orrico single is discreetly splendid also, all the boys in the video have rillyrilly tall hair and she's vaguely chipmunkish and endearing though has potential to become major irritant if it does especially well. Are South the same South who did something very drab and serious on Mo'Wax a few years ago?

This week I truly am doomed.

Couldn't get to a PC at half two, but for now -

BETTING ENDS!

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 17:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Gah. Having now heard that Jaimeson song, I now wish I'd put it much much higher. Anyone seen midweeks?

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 05:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Yup.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 05:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Oooh crikey.

Having seen CD:UK today, B & S (writing it like that makes my twee soul go 'whoop!') and Busted are actually having a proper battle at the top of the table. Are The Beaver and The Gerbil really the new R Kelly?

I can't wait...

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Saturday, 16 August 2003 19:14 (twenty-two years ago)

And it's an early kick-off as the 'tones enter at #40, getting 10 for Carmody, and one each for Alex, Mitchell and Joni.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 17 August 2003 14:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Now Soda Club are new at #31. It's a big week for shit house tracks with godawful female vocals.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 17 August 2003 14:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I dunno which of QFX or Soda Club is worse, actually.

Anyway, it'll quiet for a wee while, but Kings Of Leon's entry position should be the next item of interest unless South have pulled off a huge coup in the latter half of the week.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 17 August 2003 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh god, it's Leann Rimes.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 17 August 2003 15:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Stacie Orrico is #11. 10 for Dods, 5 each for Ian and Skidmore, and 1 each for me and Joni.
