Just curious for some name dropping comparing work of current music makers in relation to Victor Borge. (Victor's work had various aspects, the musical reinterpretation, his live performances, usage of language, etc.)

Man he was great. Watching some of his clips took me back. I'm sure I saw that PBS special with my grandparents. What a funny guy.

I used to read stories to my daughters using Borge's phonetic punctuation; it was pretty exhausting to keep up but they kept insisting on it.

Kidding about what? About what a freakin' musical genius he was? I saw him perform 2 or 3 times and he was amazing. If he had just stuck to straight classical piano people would still call him a singular talent, the fact that he could meld it with comedy so successfully and connect across the generations is utterly unique.
