Fuck me Ammadeus

I found this LP by a chap covering BACH a la Wendy Carlos, but made in the mid eitheies with digital synths and some very bad drum machines. BACHBUSTERS its called. In fact he improvises over Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. How blasphemous is improvising over BACH> ?? ANyone else know anything about this, and is there a MOZARTBUSTERS?

BONUS : Whats up wit h the Swingle singers? C or D??

Swingles Singers do Bach ... Classic!

My mum used to play me this when I was a kid, and clearly it had a subconscious effect but I didn't exactly go for it. Now it fits so smoothly in with a sensibility informed by Stereolab, bossa nova and intelligent drum 'n' bass. Beautiful.

I have nothing to say on this subject, really, but I wanted to point out that "Fuck Me Amadeus" is the best slogan Mike has come up with yet.

Love those Swingle Singers! They're still going strong, apparently--I have a recent CD (though I prefer the '60s stuff; wish they'd done "Theme From A Man And A Woman").

All that I have to say is that no matter how bad the above album is, it can't possible compare to the horror of the classical Doors cover album being hawked "as seen on TV" last year.

I didn't come up with that slogan

Mike Hanle y, Thursday, 9 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Shhh, admit nothing, you ponce.

Ally, Thursday, 9 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Must your childish antics occur in ILM too! You are driving me insane! :(

Actually Ally [hushed silence in theatre as pantomime villain appears on stage, complete with moustache and cane] I invented it.

[Some half-hearted hisses. A small child begins to cry.]

The dastard! (I bet he's responsible for that classical Doors album as well! I can just see him twiddling his moustache with the Kronos Quartet tied to a train track...)

I'm sorry, absoloutely nothing can compare to what my brother found yesterday: 'The synthesiser rock orchestra play classic trax (oh yes it is spelt like that) by the beatles and elton john'.

I mean, the SYNTHESISER ROCK ORCHESTRA!!!????!!!

I don't care who invented anything, to be a good theif you admit nothing. Mike has broken the dodgy person rules and as such is kicked out of our club. No amount of calling me Charo or sexually harrassing Emma will return him to the bad person club.
