Shaolin wage war on trademark violatorsChina’s ancient warriors, the Shaolin monks, are launching a different kind of battle: one for the control of their name. The combat-trained fighters are now hard at work trying to trademark their name so other companies can’t collect on their 1,500-year-old image. The vegetarian monks at China’s best-known martial arts temple started the process 2 years ago, suing and beating a sausage company that used their name. The temple then decided to apply for a trademark. It’s a battle to protect intellectual property that many foreign corporate warriors sympathize with, as China now has the undesirable title of “king counterfeiter of the world.”Reporter: Jocelyn Ford
