WTF are Dashboard Confessional doing there, they seem totally out of place on this bill. Perhaps some disgruntled goth will shoot them.

Don't lie. You're not ashamed at all! ;-)
As for me: I'm amazed! I'm also deeply confused. In fact the more I look at that lineup I'm scratching my head (but I like how it's an attempt for KROQ to try and ignore the nineties..."No, no, we were always either Brit Anglophile 80s or that new stuff that's coming out now! Korn who?").
I've seen Echo, Soft Cell and the Cure individually, Psych Furs now worry me, Duran not as much and given all that, this show can happen without me. Besides which, Interpol, please. But lower on the bill than Echo, even without Pete De Frietas = A SIGN THAT SANITY RETURNS TO THE WORLD.

Yeah, but Duran is with Andy and Roger Taylor instead of that stupid asshat Warren Cucurullo.
You and Dan should go, it could double as your commitment ceremony. Imagine exchanging vows during the Cure's set!

Funny thing is it might actually be cheaper than the $90 they were asking to play in Costa Mesa itself. I refused to go to that show on general principle.
Imagine exchanging vows during the Cure's set!
The romance!
Part of the problem also is that I can already predict the Cure's set from here, they have their festival shows down to a science. "Let's Go to Bed," "The Walk," "Just Like Heaven," "Love Song," "Killing an Arab," maybe a concluding version of "A Forest"...

Let's put it this way, if Soft Cell hadn't've already toured here last year, I would have been there without hesitation. As it is, it boils down to me thinking "I'd rather see the Cure and Soft Cell do full sets of their own" rather than a bunch of twenty-minute sets with obvious numbers or whatever the hell most of the bands will end up doing (at least the likes of Hot Hot Heat, Fountains of Wayne et al won't be quite so burdened down on that score). I might yet go, a couple of my coworkers are interested, but I'm not feeling much in terms of inspiration, it's more like a stupid KROQ concert package than anything else, a Flashback Lunch festival that's only missing Modern English to make it a clean sweep.

Maybe he was ordered to be Marc Almond's backstage entertainment?
