right -there is beaches and canyons and the hot skin 12" - now is there anything that you think that needs to go on the reissue??? by the by, the summer hits are very fucking cool - west coast and psyched-up broken social scene? maybe? you know anybody responding is bucking for a big thank you in the reissue! (responding positively i might add...)

i don't know how many of these are on Beaches.. but here goes:

there's a few tracks on a Four Letter Words compilation that are among their best work.

at least one track from their 7" on Silver Girl needs to be there ("Letitia") and the song from their split with Spare Snare as well..

and the aforementioned track on the WJ 7"..

i think all of the aforementioned stuff, with the exception of the "hot skin" material & i guess the kxlu sessions, found its way onto "beaches and canyons". (the song from the "bristol vs la" comp is "maximum bum ride"...the spare snare split track was "away from the city"...& "do you know cidney?" appears as an unlisted track stuck on the end of "that carmel feeling" on "beaches...")

there's a song on a 7" (Christmas Records #111) called "Christmas Has Been Cancelled Due to Lack of Interest"...billed as further w/the summer hits. i reckon it's worth including. rex sings "did a lot of speed last christmas eve..." (i know everyone will be shocked to learn that the summer hits' christmas carol mentions drugs)

wow, so there are plans to put the "hot skin" 12" on the reissue? it is definitely a different animal than the other stuff. it was released under the moniker "The Summer Hits Group", i don't think darren/josh were involved, and it's guitarless & sample-based, for whatever that's worth.

Ok, where can I get my hands on a copy of 'Beaches and Canyons'? Amazon doesn't list it and google searches don't tell me much.
