NYLPM: Help Me With Links

Message Bookmarked

If you have or know a good music blog or website and you'd like it to be linked on NYLPM can you say so please - I am trying to redo the links on NYLPM and I'm fairly out of touch. The main criteria is that it must have been updated in the last month.

Also if you can think of a way to categorise them rather than some huge alphabetical order list that would be nice too.

Yes I am getting you to do all my work for me. Sorry.

It's no more than I deserve.

http://bylands.dur.ac.uk/~rc/freaks/ is by no means good, but we occasionally come out with something interesting, we'd hope. And it has been updated in the last month.

How about a ranking system based on a sliding scale of Music -> Life in General?

person#0 (person#0), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 09:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, looking back, that's a poor idea, beaten into a bloody pulp by Alphabetical listing. Long live tradition!

I try and get stuff up on mine every week at least.

Jim Eaton-Terry (Jim E-T), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 09:24 (twenty-two years ago)

DJ Martian (djmartian), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 10:52 (twenty-two years ago)

You could always seperate the group blogs from the solo things. Also, perhaps discriminate between "professional" writers and the great unwashed.

And, of course, Mr. Ewing, http://www.popshots.org is sort of up & running.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 12:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I started mine recently, and promise music related posts several times a week. http://futuremyth.blogspot.com

http://blogs.salon.com/0002750/ is also good for righteous political and musical outrage.

My weblog is probably about 60% music, especially since I stopped doing the crossword.

DJ Martian (or anyone else who knows), what does the TEST mean before the name of some of the blogs here.

My fairly new (predominantly music) blog is Damaged in Transit, and it's going to be above average once I get the hang of it.

David A. (Davant), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 17:40 (twenty-two years ago)

The TEST means that I am still checking those weblogs if I want to keep them in the watchlist. Content-wise and technical-wise (if updates are shown correctly).

alex in mainhattan (alex63), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 18:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Thanks for the link to my almost dormant blog, David. Right now I am more obsessed with Adorno than with music. But I guess that will change soon. What is this "Tarantula" album you are writing about, David? First I thought the Texans transplanted to NY were Calla but then I realized that they don't have an album with that title out. There is a Ride album with that title. You surely don't mean that, do you? By the way I just removed the TEST in front of your blog (will show up in 3 hours or so).

alex in mainhattan (alex63), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 18:43 (twenty-two years ago)

If Do You See? would care to link to http://ker-ching.blogspot.com we wouldn't say no.

If I would actually finish what I'm writing for it, we wouldn't say no neither...

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 18:57 (twenty-two years ago)

alex -- Okay, I can see why that wasn't clear. It's an older piece of writing from an ILM Calla thread that I didn't want to lose. So, it's not immediately clear which band I'm talking about, except in the paragraph that precedes it. "Tarantula" is actually the first song from the album I'm trying to describe there -- and that album being Calla's self-titled debut. Hope that's clearer.

And thanks for the answer. Enjoy your Adorno tangent ;-)
