I think the final paragraph is genius.

Douglas (Douglas), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:38 (twenty-two years ago)

"Do Not Go Gentle Into That Crotch"

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:45 (twenty-two years ago)

It's all in the phrasing.

Thy Lethal Zen Ned (Ned), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:45 (twenty-two years ago)

"The defendant stated he wanted to take 'art photos' of the victim."

ie, the defendant begged to be thrown in jail

dleone (dleone), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

The DA's office says the evidence is being evaluated. Regardless of whether Gordon has to face a judge next month, law-enforcement
sources say unofficial justice was already delivered. The Hell's Angels, who detained Gordon for police, were not, the sources say,
gentle with sensitive areas of the rock star's body.

God Bless the Hell's Angels!

The Phish bassist has a long career of showing "poor judgement". Witness his decision to be in Phish in the first place.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

So will the Hell's Angels be charged with assault?

Starting this thread was probably poor judgement.

Aaron A., Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha x-post with Alex!

The dude showed poor judgement in joining Phish in the first place, let alone pulling a Gary Glitter.

Larcole (Nicole), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Let that be a lesson to you, kids -- the evil reefer will rot your brain so badly that you'll think that claiming to be taking "art photos" of a 9-year-old will fly as an excuse when you're confronted by the cops. It might also impair your judgement to the extent that you'll enjoy making music like Phish's.

(x-post w/Alex too!)

Nom De Plume (Nom De Plume), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Even if one were to give Mr."Cactus" (the moniker is also worrying..."See, I'm all prickly!") the benefit of the doubt, isn't it sort've a strange venue -- let alone circumstance -- to take 'art photos'?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

It's time someone said "Stupid fucking hippie."

dave225 (Dave225), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Woah! I've talked to this guy, he's like the not-creepiest person ever. Fozzy Bear is more skeevy than Mike Gordon, wtf is going on here?

(fwiw he actually has been working on a photo-book since the start of their tour supposedly)

(x-post yeah and the obligatory down-with-hippies tirade begins!)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:56 (twenty-two years ago)

what else is in his photo book, dare I ask?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Look, this would all be A-OK in France...

rilly tho, all this reactionary rush-to-judgement stuff is creepy.

Aaron A., Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Fozzy Bear is creepy as hell.

Mark (MarkR), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Perhaps he's hoping to publish his back on a series of milk cartons after the tour....

And as for the rush to judgment, it's just an easy target for humor. I have no idea what kind of moral character this man has, just that he makes music and lives a lifestyle that I dislike (well, I could deal with the being wealthy part).

Nom De Plume (Nom De Plume), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:01 (twenty-two years ago)

That was supposed to read "book".

Nom De Plume (Nom De Plume), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, yes: it's a bit hard to believe that a band who were supposed to play at fucking ALTAMONT (The Dead) would still be hiring Hell's Angels for concert security.

Nom De Plume (Nom De Plume), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Nom, you're thinking of the Grateful Dead.

Mark (MarkR), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:04 (twenty-two years ago)

The Dead are the surviving members from the GD, right?

Looks like from the article that they weren't actually hired, just hanging out. My bad.

Nom De Plume (Nom De Plume), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Perhaps the `Angels are still waiting to be paid that beer from Altamont and just keep showing up at gigs, providing free "security"!

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:07 (twenty-two years ago)

That's thoroughly hilarious, even if he's innocent.

If I'm the bass player for PHISH, I don't take the 9 year old daughter of a Hell's Angels fellow, WHO IS IN THE IMMEDIATE VICINITY, to a dark area for some art photography.

Trey's obviously the brains of the operation...

ham on rye (ham on rye), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry to change your picture to link Alex. Not sure we want to appear in their logs right now.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:13 (twenty-two years ago)

haha, daly city yo (that's a tiny subdivision of the mighty FRISCO chapter).

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:14 (twenty-two years ago)

which is just a minor splinter from the even larger VENTURA founding fathers of HAMC.

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, the bassist already showed bad judgement... oh damn.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:40 (twenty-two years ago)

"Art photos", eh? Sounds a bit "Phish"-y if you ask me.

o. nate (onate), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:44 (twenty-two years ago)

ok, nate, you go to your room. right now.

Kingfish (Kingfish), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:50 (twenty-two years ago)

"Art photos", eh? Sounds a bit "Phish"-y if you ask me.

oooooh. ::::::shudder:::::: That hurt.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll bet it didn't hurt as much as a Hell's Angel's steel-toed boot to the johnson.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:58 (twenty-two years ago)

you reckon the Angels will google up this thread like the DMB fans did? what if the Angels are all DMB fans?

Bob Shaw (Bob Shaw), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 19:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Not so much as google, but having 100 or so odd hits from an odd site you've never seen before may bring attention.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 19:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, but it's not like we're critiscizing the `Angels or nothin'. Hell, my hat's off to'em!

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Is it possible to get cyberstomped?
