Dashboard Confessional No2 On Billboard Albums Chart.

Must be a quiet week for sales.

"Although Universal's Interscope Records has a 49% stake in Vagrant, the Santa Monica, Calif.-based label is distributed by independent TVT, which qualifies "A Mark..." for Billboard's Independent Albums chart, where it arrives at No. 1."

Do people still believe in an 'indie chart'?

Is anybody surprised by this? It's what white teenagers listen to.

David Allen, Wednesday, 20 August 2003 22:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Yup, that's Trife all right.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 23:05 (twenty-two years ago)

wow, I guess getting tons of press and radio airplay IS a good way to sell records

Text messaging is going to ruin it too...just you wait and see.

sarcasm is the only thing that gets me by nowadays. i lost my faith in humanity a while ago...maybe it was when i saw that Hanson was on a sold-out tour. Or maybe it was when Rodney King was arrested a second time for drunk driving...the second time. I dont know. I quit. Im going to the bar with Millar.

he goes glam in his new video! sort of.

While the crassness of his incorporating Jimmy Eat World like elements into his Lisa Loeb-like style is something I endorse (it makes it easier to tell the difference between the songs a bit), I cannot fucking stand this guy. The music is more inocuous in a good way but he's still pulling that whisper shit. I can't stand his music and I find all photos of him repulsive (and I heard the music first in case you're wondering chicken or egg).

I'd like to take this guy and Peaches, lock them in a room together for a week and see who kills and eats the other first. Then leave the survivor in the room for another week.

Ha! I told ya Emo was for 12 yr-old girls.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:23 (twenty-two years ago)

if he spent a night in a room with peaches hed probably make much better music.

Felcher (Felcher), Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:24 (twenty-two years ago)

For those of us in Europe, where Universal is yet to wield their DashCon marketing muscle - what are we missing out on, so far?

JoB (JoB), Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Is anybody surprised by this? It's what white teenagers listen to.

that's not true. they all listen to ABC.

Andrzej B. (Andrzej B.), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Dan Fogelberg without the passion.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:57 (twenty-two years ago)

All the photos I've seen of him he's wearing a sickeningly sincere expression. Still haven't heard him though...

Sean (Sean), Thursday, 21 August 2003 21:06 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, what does this stuff sound like? Is it more quiet guitar+whispered vocals/loud part with shouty chorus/instrumental noodling (repeat ad nauseam), only with super-sensitive boy lyrics? I mean, what is this all about, and is it worth looking into?
