"corny indie fuxx"

Even though I don't particularly care for indie-rock, the phrase "corny indie fuxx" bothers me a lot.

(plus I thought one of the bad things about indie was that it just about defined itself by its *lack* of sentimentality/corn i.e. Tortoise vs Shania Twain)

aye, there's nothing wrong with listening to indie, so long as you don't make sweeping patronising/dismissive comments about dance music/hip-hop/pop music. so yeah, the term bothers me a little too.

i mean - i'll happily be labelled an indie dude (without the corny), cos i listen to quite a bit of indie (although i listen to other genres). but i'm guessing i *have* seen the term used to refer to indie fans who are completely polite and reasonable about their tastes - which is why i kind of dislike it.
