you know those serial killer movies that come on usa and tnt really late night and theyre really fuckin scary precisely because theyre not big budget well written films but like these dirty little horrible cash-ins, you get the sense that if the director wasnt making this poorly-lit filthy made-for-tv thing he probably actually would BE a serial killer, thats what dj paul is like except with rap

also best choral sample in hiphop ever, even better than the m.o.p./adam f one

mr. ethan is there a thread where you've ranked all the three six (and mafia) releases? because i picked up the "choices" album and except for the first four tracks and maybe two or three others i'm not really feeling it :(

the whole project pat album really captures the feel of shitty cable tv movies from 3-6am, like i said in that old three six mafia thread, unsolved mysteries beats!!! three tone minor key synths!!!

please give us a proper s/d, sir.

oh sorry, xpost!! i only have da unbreakables and chapter two, plus the project pat album which is their tamest but probably has the best beats all around...tear da club up is an untouchable earlier single from that bone dis cd, i havent heard the rest of it...da unbreakables is the best proper album of the TWO i own but chapter two is great too and has the terrifying 'i aint cha friend'...my fav non album track is the INCREDIBLE 'baby mama' with la chat, from the baby boy soundtrack, its bouncy and funny and not very typical three six but just like this sick fast electro version of chickenhead, everyone on earth needs to hear it

trife (simon_tr), Saturday, 23 August 2003 04:30 (twenty-two years ago)

a lot of this is what ive said in the earlier thread but also my other fav project pat is 'if you aint from my hood' which switches up the beat in the middle, yall know thats my fav thing for a song to do, and has just this eerie syrupy groove for the whole thing, especially when like detuned violins and shit come in!!!

trife (simon_tr), Saturday, 23 August 2003 04:31 (twenty-two years ago)

also when i was up in south carolina i found the la chat album and shes fucking terrifying, like this gangly medusa with a platinum front!! i totally expected her to be fine, but i guess thats just the hypnotize minds style

trife (simon_tr), Saturday, 23 August 2003 04:32 (twenty-two years ago)

if you aint got my cheese then im jeckal and hyde!!!

trife (simon_tr), Saturday, 23 August 2003 04:37 (twenty-two years ago)

"baby mama" is on the choices album and yeah it's the shit. actually all the best tracks on that album are the ones with la chat, one of the reasons i really like the idea of three six is how much fun la chat and gangsta boo are - they should be on every single track!

vahid (vahid), Saturday, 23 August 2003 04:40 (twenty-two years ago)

choices was the album that tied in with their movie right?? i might get it!! another great project pat song: 'whole lotta weed'!!

trife (simon_tr), Saturday, 23 August 2003 04:41 (twenty-two years ago)

juicy j and dj paul make the only descending suicidal beats i really like, everyone elses are either too tame or lack 666's victorian flair for drama, like i said once (shocking ned) three six are the dirty south ambrose bierce!!!

trife (simon_tr), Saturday, 23 August 2003 04:43 (twenty-two years ago)

what the fuck is wrong with yall am i the only head who likes project pat!!!!! i was just playing three six - fuck that shit and every time it does that little intro bit i always want it to turn into the portishead song, anybody wanna do a mashup of that?? btw third best song w choral samples ever = 'rainbow colors'
