this is the mixtape introduction that precedes his new album proper as i am coming out in september on social circles.

there's been some talk about my philosophy (bounce) on here but i think he deserves more attention. he has all these different comedy personas bob'll bonk-it, mr fidgit, kumlow, farmer yardie and snaggle. he's really funny and charismatic, maybe not as serious as other grime mcs but that's social circles for ya.

on the mix tape he has a song called for sheezy i'm a geezy where he freestyles over the la la la beat and a remix of bounce which uses the nigga what beat. there's a bit where he interrupts and goes 'yo this is donae'o and this album's for free but the next one fucking aint. i aint rich u know i aint driving in a bentley - yet'. i guess 'hungry' would be a good word to describe him. he also says that my philosophy will be released as a cd single for those who don't dj. surely one of the singles of the year

so has anyone heard this and what do they think of donae'o and social circles in general?

"farmer yardie", the track, is fan-fucking-tastic.

it's funny hearing grime next to us hip hop tracks, especially when the mr fidgit stuff sounds about a million times better produced than pump it up

you gotta imagine it in a voice somewhere between ian dury and one of those big monsters from sesame street: "my name's farmer yardie/and i like to party".

farmer yardie is donae'o's uncle and his wife is called betty.

i think ilm would cream itself over nicole, it's like a more sympathetic jezebel but with a better beat (tho people may disagree with me on the last point)

my turn to be the po-face grimehed, he's just too wanky 4 me. like don't do drugs ok thanks whatev i'll write it down! he's talented tho, i have the same prob with most social circles but when they lay off a little they can be amazing, like sticky feat joy - beggin!! but that may never come out i hear

But the great thing about the anti-drugs message of "Bounce" is how silly it is - it's like, "yeah why would i do drugs if it gets in the way of me scoring hot chicks??" I can't be sure but I don't remember a single socially responsible argument in that song.

At the risk of repeating myself in a boring fashion, I think he's got the potential to be the Ludacris to Kano's Jay-Z.

urgh, healthy sex!

Chip Morningstar (bob), Saturday, 23 August 2003 22:30 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah who wants to REMEMBER sex, right chip?

He has such a great distinctive production style. It's really groovy rather than aggressive, without just sounding like 2step, bounce or dancehall. Or have I just not listened to those genres enough?

Keith McD (Keith McD), Sunday, 24 August 2003 06:53 (twenty-two years ago)

mr finney otm as usual - bounce just cracks me up and has always made me laugh coz there's not a single solid "reason" why his argument stands up... it's just totally screwy logic that somehow seems to make sense to him, but he's so funny and likeable you just go along with it, quite happily! and chip, sex is quite fun, perhaps try it sometime...
