Could anyone hep a dumb Midwestern Yank about this label? I found an imported copy of Deuce magazine recently, which featured a mix of stuff on the label. It's weird, dark, thumping electronic stuff. So what do the kids call this? What's the cultural context? Is it well regarded in the garage etc. scene?

you mean geeneus of payg's label right? i think it's the stuff that luka of heronbone fame hates..

anyway, it is well regarded, geeneus djs regularly on rinse fm with riko dan and is in payg and also helps out at square records. it's full of standard producers like wizzbit, target, slimzee, wonder and the mcs riko amongst others and boyz in da hood are also signed up. i guess it's called sub-low, mostly vocal-less, bleak bass heavy techy violent east beats.

Do they do songs with vocals at all? The mix -- which was done by Geenyus -- only has somebody doing standard "Selectah! Next one!" stuff. Although whoever the MC is says one of my favorite self-bigging-ups ever: "This sounds like the future! Where would you rather be?"
