Can't believe this hasn't been done before.. I got their 'Works Project LP' when it came out in 1999 and was addicted to their mix of folk yearnings and a then-new-to-my-ears Krautrock influences.
Still, it seems they faded away without leaving much trace.. Any love around these shores?

i like that tune thats 23 minutes long.

saw them live and it was a bit boring. (*this was ages ago)

some of the stuff on the previous lp "Recorded in State" I liked very much. the straight countryish stuff - Aspirins, Phillys Song - worked much better than the stuff with beats etc (too try-hard Beckish for my tastes)

Phillys Song is a great track

Odd, I was going to start a thread about Scott 4 a week or so ago.

Saw them support the High Llamas in '97 or '98, very good except for 'You set the scene' going on for far too long. Then saw them headline a few months later at TJs and knowing that they'd finish with "You set the scene", I managed to avoid it. A bit average live, but on record very good, "Works Project" is a good mix of all the different kind of things they do, and "In state" has its moments, mainly the straighter country stuff. They made a joint LP with Magic Car about two years ago, but have issued nothing new since then. A neglected classic of a band.
