...for your review of Wrong's "Live At Even Further" on AMG, which game me the push I needed to buy it and enter a world of noisy bliss.

Raymond Cummings (Raymond Cummings), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

The hell? I had forgotten I had reviewed the damn thing! *checks* Oh yes. And isn't Weasel Walter actually some Flying Luttenbachers leper messiah or something?

I suppose we could turn this thread into the 'tell me which of those AMG review of mine actually DID something for you' thread -- the corollary for those that didn't could be 'Ned Raggett, I smack you' or something.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 14:30 (twenty-two years ago)

(oh. i thought this thread must've been started by either the Ramones' or Iron Maiden's PR people ;)

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Woohoo!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Your song reviews made me buy Siamese Dream!

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Wednesday, 27 August 2003 18:05 (twenty-two years ago)

You turned me on to Flowchart! But that wasn't because of AMG, so that doesn't count.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 18:07 (twenty-two years ago)

smack is too associated with kiss.

maul.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 18:13 (twenty-two years ago)

You beat me to all the choice reviews! Oh wait, it's kiSS! Wrong thread.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 19:41 (twenty-two years ago)

(ps Ned you know I love you, I kiss you anyways k bye)

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 19:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Mr Ned got me into a lot of good music, from the likes of My Bloody Valentine, Chameleons, Wedding Present, lots of shoegazer stuff (Ride, Chapterhouse, Swervedriver, etc.) and so on... Also one of the biggest responsibles for the ultra-rapid growth of my CD collection. Damn you, Ned Raggett, for making me buy so many cd's! ;)

JP Almeida (JP Almeida), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 21:58 (twenty-two years ago)

i fully expect to be a babbling shoegazer by christmas thanks to Ned.

gaz (gaz), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 22:07 (twenty-two years ago)

The Top 136 Albums of the 90's list is the only reason that I ended up listening to music at all. I owe my entire CD collection to reading that and being interested enough in some of those bands to find out more about them and start buying music.

''i fully expect to be a babbling shoegazer by christmas thanks to Ned.''

don't throw yr life away gaz ;)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 28 August 2003 06:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey! Julio is mean. ;-) And to all the various posters so far -- gosh, thanks. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 28 August 2003 12:15 (twenty-two years ago)

your top 136 albums of the 90s list reinvigorated my faith in the smashing pumpkins. and for that i am eternally grateful

Felcher (Felcher), Thursday, 28 August 2003 14:43 (twenty-two years ago)

The Jane's Addiction piece that you linked to in the "What's the most feverishly excited..." thread was terrific!

J-rock (Julien Sandiford), Friday, 29 August 2003 02:53 (twenty-two years ago)

That "Top albums..." thing put me onto Julee Cruise

ta NEd!

mei (mei), Friday, 29 August 2003 12:06 (twenty-two years ago)

two years pass...
It has been my pleasure never to think or deal with any B&S spinoff band.

I laughed out loud when I read this in response to this thread. I'm a B&S dan, but The suckage of B&S spinoffs has made me envious of B&S haters for not having to waste precious time or money on it.

giantBehemoth (makelove), Thursday, 16 March 2006 07:44 (twenty years ago)

There ya go. That said, the collaboration with Lanegan is making me rethink (on Isobel, not on anything else).

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 16 March 2006 15:37 (twenty years ago)

You mean you're thinking about listening to it? My advice to you is: don't.

The Day The World Turned Dayglo Redd (Ken L), Thursday, 16 March 2006 15:43 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, but you have keep in mind I'm a massive Lanegan fan.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 16 March 2006 15:47 (twenty years ago)

Well, maybe, but I heard it the other day in teh rekkid store, and it was underwhelming. But don't take my word.

The Day The World Turned Dayglo Redd (Ken L), Thursday, 16 March 2006 15:56 (twenty years ago)

Ned Raggett is vulnerable cuteness personified. If I could have my wicked way, I'd lube up that cute Raggett ass, strap on something imposing and have at it until he squealed with pain and pleasure, shaking his luscious locks thisly and thusly.

Janey B., Thursday, 16 March 2006 16:09 (twenty years ago)

Naturellement.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 16 March 2006 16:17 (twenty years ago)

You know what ILM/ILE needs now?

MORE NED RAGGETT.

(I forgot that I even started this thread!)

Raymond Cummings (Raymond Cummings), Thursday, 16 March 2006 16:29 (twenty years ago)

i have a severe isobel campbell aversion but the lp with lanegan is actually not bad. 'ramblin' man' is fantastic.

stirmonster (stirmonster), Thursday, 16 March 2006 16:54 (twenty years ago)

I think Janey B. has you confused with Steve Huey again.

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Thursday, 16 March 2006 19:49 (twenty years ago)

Passion'll do that.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 16 March 2006 19:50 (twenty years ago)
