Peter Beste and his black metal pictures

Love to hear some thoughts regarding this...I stumbled upon them today, but it's not a complete overview...since I used to be very much into metal a while back, it definitely got my attention, albeit in a "hey, finally someone did this" manner...however, the photographs don't strike me as very evocative, or even telling of what's behind black metal, just sneers/grimaces/corpsepaint that might draw attention from the unitiated, but not much else from people in the know...also, the black metal bands Beste snaps are 3rd or 4th wave black metal (Enslaved and Fenriz from Darkthrone being the only exception I've seen so far), and I for one do miss Mayhem, Emperor (regardless of the split), Immortal and other big older BM bands, or even obscure ones, hell, even flyer and fanzine art...also, I'd love to see more pictures of people at BM shows (I've only seen 2 or 3 Beste ones, denim-vest thrashers), I hope Beste focused on that too...
