the flyer is an absolute masterpiece imo
good line-up too, tho it may not be a full-on thing considering it's a Tuesday night, hard to predict the turnout and atmos - but should be fun

there were about 3 video cameras on the go filming about 15 people dancing which i thought was cute.
busy enough for a tuesday i guess because the 2 bars we were in prior(pur space, po na na) were, literally, 2 people shy of being empty.
they should have held it *in* po nana i was thinking.

hopefully there will be another event soon, on a sensible night this time (e.g. Saturday) - i've got photos of last night to go up somewhere soon...

Steve, I trust the meeting-me goal was just above 'Must grow three foot long beard' and just below 'Must hang in a buffalo stance with a bunch of thalidomide kids'.
All other nights I've been to at Sofa have around the same amout of people in (on Fri and Sat) but the dancefloor is rarely as packed as it was last night. Better looking crowd than usual too. V.looking forward to the next one, and if it is on a Friday or Saturday I'll be able to drag a lot more people down. Esp if you get Osymyso on the scene, or even the big Dick X.

doesn't time fly?
so...are boot nights still a regular thing? are there lodas of cool mash-up nights i'm not aware of popping up all over the country full of roof raising cheers from glamorous types each time a go home classic is dropped?
...or has it died on it's arse (again)?

looking at the GYBO forum there have been things happening in places like Bristol and Preston on a regular basis as well as Sheffield, Brighton and even Belgium, Switzerland and Germany.
I think the ethos drifted into regular club nights and playlist policies tho, taking the buzz away from the custom/DIY nights. You hear silly mash-ups everywhere now, even high street O'Neills on a Friday night. That's progress!
