Is that new album any good? The New York Times made me curious. I think i need to hear his voice. exotic rhythms? Lotsa handclaps? Anybody heard it? I put the b-side to The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum, entitled ?, on a tape the other night and that thing is still 10 years ahead of the competition. or 5 maybe. or threeish. waitaminute, there is no competition. who would put out something that cool? maybe sean paul. or shakira. or jackie mittoo's ghost. wait, is jackie mittoo dead? so many questions. so little time.

Died back in 1990 I'm afraid. "Faith, Hope And Charity" is the B-side on my copy of "Lunatics" and damn good it remains too. New album is a bit too tasteful for my taste - Albarn-imposed "polite" world music which never really cuts loose as it should. Save your pennies for the Oi-Va-Voi album (out on 29th Sept) which really is amazing.

oops, yur right, marcello. i think it musta been my telephone always rings 45. i have it around here somewhere. yah, the times mentioned that he was somehow inspired by damon and his adventures in mali or wherever. hmmm, i will take a wait and see attitude. what is oi-va-voi? i'm kinda hoping it's a collab between The Business and Daft Punk going by the title.

Oi-va-voi is london based klezmer meets club beats group. i'm surprised by the high praise for 'em as i was not particularly impressed by their live show or the couple of tracks i have, but mebbe the album will be better. bio and one song can be found here

Not heard the latest from Hall. His 1994 album "Home" was a somewhat patchy affair that did eventually contain one of the best singles of the entire decade, "Forever J"

You will all have to forgive me. I just moved to an island and all my records are in storage cuz it was wet and humid here and i didn't want them to get moldy. All my books too. Anyway, for the third time, cuz my brain is mush and cuz i just dug it out: The b-side entitled ? ( that's question mark ) is on the More That I See single! And it's great. As are all FB3 b-sides. one of these days i will make a thread and post all my fave b-sides.
