Can someone ID the industrial band with a female singer

About 7-8 years ago I heard a commercial on the radio for a concert/festival for industrial acts, one of whom was Sister Macine Gun. Then the ad played a brief snippet of another band, I can't remember what it sounded like other than it had a woman w/ a fluttery, nigh-operatic style singing over what I gather to be an industrial production. It's a long shot, but if anyone can do it, etc.

You just described just about every goth/EBM crossover band in existance.

(7-8 years ago was sort of their time, what with Strange Days and all that)

Ermmm... maybe Sky Cries Mary? Miranda Sex Garden? Lycia? (Just a couple of shots in the dark...)

Sounds a little bit like "Empires Collapse" by Cop $hoot Cop, off the White Noise album.

Miranda Sex Garden was the first band that leapt to mind, so I'd second that vote.

It's not Skunk Anansie, I actually know what they sound like, and the singer has a smoother, fuller voice than Skin.

i third miranda sex garden, i was listening to fairytales about slavery the other day. that song "peep show" gets me every time. i find myself stretching my falsetto limits when i listen to it in the car.

Dunno what it is but you should get Miranda Sex Garden's Suspiria album anyhow, just because it's the right thing to do.

The singing style, I think, is kind of similar to the Cocteau's "Aikea-Guinea" -- no so much the quality of voice (though there might be a resemblance to Liz), but the way Liz sings on "AG."

I don't know who you're talking about but thanks for reminding me of Skunk Anansie, what a band they were! (Are?)
