ok you snobs.
MSI is NOT the type of music i would expect gets listened to by the ILM crowd, but i invite all of you to become 14 year old social outcasts circa the year 2000 for just a short period of time by listening to this very odd group.
so i suppose this is a c/d

cross reference the series of threads in late august about 14 year olds and the music they listen to / should listen to.

especially: "Why don't we trust younger people to listen to "better" music when they grow up?"
Why don't we trust younger people to listen to "better" music when they grow up?

("14 year old girls are the best rock crits")

Never heard of them

"I Hate Jimmy Page" was a pretty cool song, but no classic. That's because I can't remember what it sounds like anymore, except that the words "I hate Jimmy Page" were in the lyrics somewhere.

Never bought their CD. Never heard anything else by them.

Their cover of "Bring the Pain" = classic.

Hammy (hammy), Monday, 8 September 2003 15:12 (twenty-one years ago)

it is classic.

i can't explain msi's goodness. it defies logic.
i should dislike them greatly. but i don't.

eleven years pass...

after revisiting the korn discography for some reason last night i decided to download frankenstein girls will seem strangely sexy which i was OBSESSED with in middle school. i like to characterize this group as proto-amanda palmer but uh i kinda still like this record

the first of two times i saw them the singer got some fans on stage and peed in their mouths :-S

flopson, Sunday, 11 January 2015 23:01 (ten years ago)

never really cared about them aside from a few stray songs i got from some weirdo in an aim chatroom i used to frequent c. 9th grade, before i had any taste at all. i remember one afternoon i went around my more jack johnson-inclined all-boys high school and amiably asked people to listen to this song on my headphones:

i also found this side project song entertaining:

anyway, dudddd

soyrev, Monday, 12 January 2015 00:43 (ten years ago)

oh yeah one of the members of the band loves k-pop and subjects the rest of the band to it in the van constantly, which i know because they acknowledged on twitter an article i wrote once. so that's kind of cool.

soyrev, Monday, 12 January 2015 00:44 (ten years ago)

i just knew this was a brad revival

Cosmic Slop, Monday, 12 January 2015 00:50 (ten years ago)
