what coast did you side with at the time? being 12 at the time i was an obsessive pac fanboy but i don't think i particularly took any side (my tape of doggystyle was backed with da onyx - bac da fuc up) and living in england i wasn't really sure what east coast/west coast meant exactly or at least what it meant to BE east or west coast apart from geographically obv.
and what records in hindsight define the conflict best? was it simply a media construction or did it have ground level roots?
