...what other tracks have similarly disappeared? Or even albums?
*Major or major-ish artists are of most interest. I'm not really bothered if The Close Lobsters disowned their third single!

There are sacks of such (70's) WHO tracks, tons of them on "Odds & Sods".

Also, browsing The Damned's website recently, I saw that the album I'm Alright Jack And The Beanstalk aka Not Of This Earth is identified not under "Studio Albums" but under "Oddities", with the comment "NOT intended for release in this form"
I'm sure there are more but that's all I can think of off hand

Dr. C's question is about hits that have been repeatedly left off compilations. Maybe if a few Pulp compilations down the line it still never turns up then yeah.

BTW WINTER COMES HOME does not exist. According to the Authorized View, it never did exist and, so, it never will exist. Those who claim to own copies are troublemakers. Report them to the Grocery Police.

"The way you are" Tears for Fears"Poplife" Blur
Oh, and "Never Clever" which would have been the follow up, but got binned when "Poplife" 'failed'. (It's on Food 100 compilation)
Yeah, the best example would be those two Captain Beefheart albums.
In other news, I just bought the "Yellow Brick Road" single. £3. Now that's Magic (band).

"Poplife" does appear on the US version of Modern Life Is Rubbish which you can get for about £14.99 in HMV.
On Robbie Williams' greatest hits album his covers of "Freedom" and "Somethin' Stupid" are conspicuously absent. Not that I'm complaining.
None of the songs from Who's That Girl? has ever appeared on a Madonna greatest hits compilation (copyright?).
And (again presumably down to copyright reasons) "Down Deep Inside" has never turned up on any Donna Summer compilation. The only place you could find it on CD was on John Barry's Lounge Lizards compilation, and I'm not sure if that's still on catalogue.

Don Van Vliet removed all mention of the albums Unconditionally Guaranteed and Bluejeans & Moonbeams from his resume and recommended to his fans that they return them to the shops and demand a refund.
This is really cracking me up this morning, considering the album was called Unconditionally Guaranteed.
The "suppressed" White Zombie stuff mentioned above did end up on their recent box set.
